According to Gary Chapman, there are 5 love languages: Words Of Affirmation, Physical Touch, Gifts, Acts of Service, & Quality Time. According to my iTunes library, there’s one love language that escapsulates several of the these at once. I don’t know much about love, but I know that every friendship or relationship I’ve cared about was built, at one point or another, with a good playlist. On the left side of my iTunes window, in the column of titles under ‘Playlists’, I saw a few names. Each brought their own flashbacks that pull different heartstrings. Most of them I made for people, either individually or to be played at work, on roadtrips, during activities, or for the readers of the blog. A few were gifts to me, and the best breed of gift I could get. I don’t care much for things… Music is my jewelry. I put it on and walk about life feeling glamourous. Songs are diamonds to me, and aren’t diamonds a girl’s best friend? When someone makes you a good playlist, it’s like they know you well enough to know, not just what you like, but what you WOULD like but haven’t heard yet.

Yesterday, I received a mix from someone I’ve recently met & consider one of the coolest people alive. These songs are so hip, jive, & diverse, & well compiled.. I can’t turn it off. I’m gonna call it foreshadowing; gave me the feeling this is gonna go well.
